I hadn't heard from my contractor for a while, so I called him and found out why. His brother died, so he has been busy mourning and taking care of all the details associated with his passing. I told him about my situation (about needing to be out of my apartment by the end of this month) and he said he would have the shed insulated and painted by then, for sure.

I'll keep working on clearing out my apartment to be ready for the move.

I still haven't heard from my contractor. I don't want to bug him. He said he would be done in time for me to move in by the end of the month, so I'll let it go at that. If I have to, I guess, I can find a motel that has weekly rates and stay there.

Today is Day 23 of boxing up stuff and moving the boxes to the storage units. One is completely full and the other one is about 95% full. I might be able to get another 4 or 5 boxes in there. The rest of the boxes I pack will stay in the apartment and go directly from there into the 20 foot U-Haul truck I'll be renting. Once the apartment is completely empty, whatever room is left in the truck will be filled with stuff from the storage units.

Then I'll drive to the property (towing my car) and empty the truck into the shed and another local storage unit I'll be renting near my property. Then I'll return in my car, rent another 20 foot U-Haul truck and empty out both storage units and that will be that. At least that's the plan.

In between the first and second trips with the 20 foot U-Hauls, I'll get a PO Box set up so I can start receiving mail.

I still haven't heard from my contractor, but now it's getting close to the end of the month when I have to be out of my apartment. So I called him a couple of times today but he didn't pick up. I left a voicemail messages, but he hasn't called back.

In the meantime I'm continuing to pack stuff in boxes, but now I'm keeping them in the apartment. I had to make another trip to Home Depot for more boxes. When the time comes, I'll empty the apartment into the U-Haul. Whatever extra room there is will be filled with stuff from the storage units.

I reached my contractor today. He said he could be done as early as this weekend, but more likely next week. I'll call him again next Tues, the 28^th. This is cutting it pretty tight. The new apartment owner said he could give me until the 10^th of February to completely move out, if I need the extra time. I'm hoping he will continue to stand by that statement.

I called my contractor today and reached him on my first try. He said he was almost done paneling the ceiling and will finish all the walls tomorrow or Thursday, depending on the weather. It has been threatening to snow. Hopefully it won't so he can finish with halfway decent weather.

My contractor committed to having all the insulation and paneling done by Friday. I'll reserve a moving truck for Monday, Feb 3^rd. Between picking it up, moving all my stuff out of my apartment and filling up any remaining space in the truck, that will probably take most of the day. I'll drive to the property on Tuesday. I don't know if I'll be able to completely empty it on Tuesday or if I will need some of Wednesday also, but time will tell. That's the plan for now.

Today, I reserved a 20' U-Haul truck and dolly (for my car) for Monday. Assuming all goes as planned, I'll pick it up first thing Monday morning and start loading it up. Even with the truck packed and the apartment empty, I plan to stay one more night and then drive to the property on Tuesday. The new owner of the apartments said he would have someone available to help me load the bigger stuff.

I called the mini-storage place near my property and left a message for them to call me back. I'm hoping they will have at least one 10'x10' unit. If so, I'll sign up for that to be mine as of February 3rd.

I got the last 10'x10' storage unit at my preferred location. If I need more space, I hope they have some smaller units available. I also set my natural gas and electricity accounts to close on February 4^th.
