The shed should be delivered today! But unfortunately, it wasn't (frowny face here).

I called my contractor today. He said he was told the shed should be delivered by next Thursday, the 21st. He should get update calls next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if this will be the real deal or not.

As I thought, no call from my contractor letting me know delivery was going to take place today, so I called him and was pleasantly surprised when he answered. He told me the delivery would now happen on Tuesday, the 26th. It might happen around 10am or 10:30am and if I leave at 7am I should be there in time to see it being put in place. I hope it won't be earlier than that, because I would like to take pictures and video of it as they drive it onto the property. Hopefully, this third time will be the charm.

Today I bought a 55 L / 58 quart 12 Volt refrigerator/freezer. I'm going to be needing it for trips to and from the property and then for sure once I start living there full time. It is normally $460, but it was on a Black Friday sale for $221 and I found a coupon for an additional $14 off. I couldn't pass it up. Eventually, I'll use it when I go on hours-long trips into town to do shopping (especially needed in the Summer). A regular ice chest would work for refrigerated items, but anything frozen would melt or thaw long before I would get home. I'll post more after I've used it a few times.

Today was supposed to be the day the shed was going to be delivered. It might have happened, but I don't know. I called my contractor at about 7:15 this morning and he said he spoke with a representative from the shed manufacturing company yesterday and they said today was going to be the day. But at 7:15 this morning, their office wasn't open yet, so there was no way to confirm the delivery or get a new delivery date. With the two prior missed delivery dates so far, I didn't really feel like making the drive all the way there only to find out it wasn't going to happen today.

As it turns out, I was too cynical. I just called my contractor (5:30 pm) and he told me the shed was delivered and leveled in place. Oh well, I missed the actual delivery, but that's the way things go sometimes. The next thing to do is to insulate the interior. We agreed to meet on the property on Monday, the 2nd of December. I wanted to wait until all the Thanksgiving traffic was over with. I don't know if we will start installing the insulation that week, or if we are meeting only to plan out what needs to be done. I'll find out one way or the other before he and I meet. If it turns out to be planning meeting, I'll take my 4 cylinder sedan because it is better on gas. If I will be staying a few days to a week or more, I'll take my pickup truck with all the food and camping supplies I'll need.

I called my contractor today to discuss what he had in mind for the meeting on Monday, December 2nd. Will it be a planning meeting only? (My thinking is it will be.) Or will we start work on it on the 3rd? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reach him to have that discussion.

Also, my Vevor 12V/120V 55L/58 quart refrigerator / freezer arrived today. There was a big ol' footprint right on the top of the box and a couple of places where the cardboard box was torn open. Fortunately, when I opened it, everything looked fine, but tomorrow I'll plug it in and test it. Picture of the footprint in tomorrow's post.

And I purchased two 5 gallon plastic diesel fuel containers and two bottles of anti-gelling fuel additive (for Winter use). I want to be ready for my WIPPRO diesel heater when it gets here, most likely next week.

The first thing I did this morning was call my contractor again. As is usual, no contact. I'll try again in the afternoon.

Today's Photos

The User Manual for the cooler is in "Chinglish", but I tried to make sense out of it. There were a couple of details the manual didn't discuss, but I don't think they will cause the cooler to short out or in some other way stop working. I sent Vevor a request for clarification. Hopefully, they will get back to me within 24 hours as they said they would.

I plugged my Vevor fridge/freezer into normal wall power to test it out. Click the thumbnail for pictures.

I finally got in touch with my contractor and he agreed that Monday will be a planning meeting. After we get everything figured out, he will order all the materials necessary to insulate the shed. Then, when the materials are ready to be picked up, I will drive to the property and help him load up everything and the unload it all at the property.
