I texted my contractor today because I received a "Construction Authorization" document. I wanted to be sure he also received a copy. He confirmed he did receive it, but on October 21st. I don't know why it took about 2-1/2 weeks longer for me to receive my copy from the county, but it did. In any event, he said he would start work on the septic system on Monday. He'll have to remove some trees, but I hope not many.
The document only says what my contractor put on paper was accepted by the county (he used percolation test results I paid for to fill out the construction application). Since no real work has been done yet, there is nothing for the county to inspect and sign off on. I'm thinking there will be at least two county inspections (I hope no more than that). One might be when the contractor has dug the hole for the septic tank and the trenches for the leach field. We might have to wait anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks for that to happen (after he completes this part of the process, which he hopefully can complete in a week).
Then another inspection might be required just prior to putting back all the topsoil - another 2 days to 2 weeks. Time will tell.
After that, I'm thinking all we need to do is to grade the property for the driveway, parking pads for two vehicles, the RV and the storage unit. Then put cinder/gravel on all the graded areas.
